Kimberly grew up on the East Coast and graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.S. in Biology. She completed an M.A. in Ecotoxicology at Duke University and worked in the environmental consulting field before finishing her N.D. and M.S.O.M. degrees at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. She came to study Naturopathic and Chinese medicines through her own healing journey, after the drugs of caring and well-intentioned medical doctors failed to provide benefit, and physicians ran out of ideas. She attributes her current level of personal health to what she's learned and the changes she's made in her life based on her studies and clinical experiences with these forms of medicine. She continues to move toward truly optimal health today, and uses her personal health experiences to better relate to and understand her patients.

Kimberly combines her love of science with her curiosity, intuition, and desire to serve others. She is passionate about health care and brings great energy, caring, and dedication to her relationships with patients.   Her strong scientific background acts as the medical foundation to her practice. The art of her practice comes from her desire to know her patients and help them achieve their health and life goals.

My Approach to Medicine
I believe that everyone can achieve a greater degree of health, be it physical (increased energy, reduced pain, more restful sleep), mental (greater concentration and mental clarity), or emotional (greater calm and sense of humor). I want patients to feel better on a day-to-day basis as well as be healthier for the rest of their lives.   Being licensed as both a Naturopathic physician and a Chinese Medical practitioner, I am able to combine the best of both of  the diagnostic skills and treatment methods of these unique but complementary health care systems.   Training in Cranial Fluid Dynamics and Reiki provides me with additional tools to facilitate healing on deeper energetic levels and treat the whole person.

I approach every patient with both short-term and long-term goals. The short-term goal is to reduce current symptoms to improve immediate health. This goal is often achieved by education and making changes in a patient’s lifestyle, such as nutrition, elimination, body mechanics, and psychological outlook. The long-term goal is to discover and treat the underlying cause of a patient’s condition/symptoms to create lasting improvement and truly prevent future disease. This goal is often achieved by understanding a patient’s personal history, heredity, temperament, and constitution to stimulate the vital healing force within each patient.

This vital force is what truly generates health, and thus, the patient, and not the doctor, ultimately accomplishes the healing. My role is to educate and empower patients to be more active and responsible in their health care, and to recommend treatments that will support and encourage this natural and wise healing process. I provide knowledge, facilitate understanding, and inspire hope by creating healthy partnerships with each patient. I look forward to meeting you and discovering your unique path toward health.
